Weekending

Great Quote for Sharpen the Saw and Put First Things First

This past weekend was busy but fun!

Saturday was spent trying out stand up paddle-boarding for the first time and running errands. SUP was fun but more difficult than I expected – everyone makes it looks so easy!! But even despite the water being pretty rough I still managed to stand up most of the time (yay!)

We also found out that the super Wal-Mart near us has awesome deals on flowers that we spent double or triple (yikes!) on for our garden so that’s definitely the place we’re going for the second half of the garden. The second half of the garden was supposed to get done this weekend but no such luck. Saturday evening was spent attempting to replicate this heavenly white bean soup that we had in Puerto Rico. The recipe called for roughly 4 hours of cooking (yikes!) and that turned into more like 6 hours and a whole lot of mess because the recipe made a whole lot of soup. We actually tweaked the recipe and while it wasn’t exactly perfect it was still pretty good!

Sunday found us sleeping in and hanging out with the neighbors. Carson and Scott went off to Cosco to have some quality boy time while Angela and I hung out and I watched Scott Jr. while she did things around the house and got ready. I’m getting more used to the baby and the fact that if a baby cries while I’m holding it it does not automatically mean that I am a failure at life. I spend a few hours cleaning the house (the kitchen looked like I war zone after the soup) and then it was time to meet up with our friends to see Pitch Perfect 2. Despite having some doubts about the movie before it started (since the 1st one was so good and there is only so much to be done with acapella) I loved it! It would definitely suggest seeing it.

What did you do this weekend? I’d love to hear about it!

I’m linking up with B Loved Boston and Champagne and Suburbs for Weekending.
