Bookshelf {July – Book Challenge}

Happy July! This is our last day of packing and I’ve actually somehow managed to get out of most of the work due to unforeseen circumstances. At this point I just want to be in Vermont and have everything done.

The fact that it is finally July means that not only is our moving day in just 1 day or that one of my favorite holiday’s is around the corner but that the book challenge that I am participating in started today!!

I stumbled upon this challenge roughly a month ago and have been dying to start reading ever since and due to my dismal performance in the category of reading during the month of June (only managed to read The Speaker for the Dead) I am even more excited to start a new month.

My list of books to read for this challenge is:

5 Points: Any Book – What You Left Behind by Samantha Hayes

10 Points: Has the word girl/woman/boy/man – The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins

10 Points: Three word title – Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

15 Points: Number in the title – A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

20 Points: Letter of Last Name – Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Jones

20 Points: Set in Latin America – Love In The Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

25 Points: Female author – May We Be Forgiven by A.M. Homes

30 Points: Book of short stories – The Adventure’s of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle

30 Points: Newberry Award Winner – The Giver by Lois Lowry

35 Points: Banned/challenged book – The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I have a few of these books and am hoping to get the rest from the library because ain’t nobody got time for lugging around 10 books that are not your all time favorites when you’re moving from state to state along with your other possessions.

If you’re interested in joining in (it’s not too late) here is the facebook group: Book Challenge.

What are some of the books on your list this summer?
