Weekending {The One Where I Got Engaged}

Happy Monday!!! This past weekend was one of the best weekends of my life and I am so excited to share it with you.

Carson had told me earlier in the week that he wanted us to go to Mt.Mansfield to take a gondola ride and hike up to the top so when Saturday rolled around I thought I was ready for the adventure.

We saw this guy playing this instrument while we were climbing!

I somehow missed the fact that Mt.Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont and is a pretty intense hike with lots of large rocks to get over. We took a gondola ride up most of the way and then hiked a little bit further. And then there came a point, close to the peak where I was shaking and unable to go on because I was deathly afraid (oops). So Carson asked me if I though I could climb this high again next year and when I said yes he got down on one knee between the rocks and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes and there were a lot of happy tears.

We made it back down to the gondola just in time for the last one to leave and then headed into Burlington to have dinner at a “floating” restaurant on the water. It was wonderful and so were the drinks (not to mention my fiance!) On the way to dinner we stopped at the Ben and Jerry’s factory which happened to be on our way and got a little bit of ice cream!

On Sunday we went to church and made the announcement of our engagement. Everyone was very excited and happy for us (although I don’t think they were as excited and/or happy as we were!) Sunday evening was spent relaxing with Carson’s family and watching the movie Home (super cute!). We got to bed early because Carson’s parents had a flight to Florida early this morning and we were both still exhausted from our adventures on Saturday.

How was your weekend? I’d love to hear about it.

Linking up with B Loved Boston for Weekending.
