So excited that it is Friday and that I can get a little break from the craziness that is life. Maryland is currently under a state of emergency until the hurricane (hopefully) passes by us. That doesn’t stop a ridiculous amount of rain and wind though! While I hide from the weather inside with the first fire of the season I am looking forward to October. One of my favorite things about the changing season? The fact that I can now watch Halloween movies!!
I know most people think “Nightmare on Elm Street or Chucky when they think of Halloween movies. But to be honest, I still am a big kid at heart and scary movies…scare me (surprise!) I’m a big scaredy cat when it comes to movies (the Scorch Trials was a little bit scarier than I liked for goodness sakes.) So when I think of Halloween movies I think…
- Halloween Town 1, 2 and 3!
These movies take me back to the good old days (aka early 2000’s). I grew up with these movies and they hold a special place in my heart. Plus can you really go wrong with Halloween + witches/wizards/magic?
- Hocus Pocus
Did you hear they are making a sequel?! This is another movie that is full of nostalgia for me plus Sarah Jessica Parker!
- Sleepy Hollow
This is a Halloween movie that has some dark elements and overall a dark color scheme but is still not “Amityville Horror” scary. And Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are always a good combo.
- Addams Family
This movie is classic and humorous. Who can resist Morticia and Wednesday Addams?!
- Harry Potter!
Sorry, I have to always sneak this in – there’s a Halloween scene in the first movie so that counts right?! Plus, what’s more Halloween-y than witches and wizards?
It’s time for me to watch one of these movies – what’s your favorite Halloween movie?
