Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

We’re just 2 days away from our two month anniversary and I’m linking up again for Wedding Wednesday! Time really does fly and we are loving every minute of it. Before we jump into the rest of the wedding festivities I thought I’d share a little bit about some of the details.

My something old was originally supposed to be my veil which a cousin had found in a vintage shop. It looks similar to the one pictured above. Long story short, due to a mistake I ended up walking down the aisle without my veil which actually was probably for the best considering how windy it ended up being. The last thing we needed was for my veil to fly away into the water!!

Luckily, I was also wearing my mom’s necklace that my dad had given to her on their wedding day so I’d say 25 years of a happy marriage definitely counts for my something old. I loved having a part of them with me as I started this new part of my life.

Something new was obviously my dress! More on this topic another day because I think my dress deserves it’s own dedicated post.

For my something borrowed I had my aunt’s/godmother’s pearl earrings. It was important to me that I also had something of her’s with me because she has been such an influential part of my life from the very first day I arrived.

And last but not least…my something blue were rainboots!! As soon as I was 90% sure it was going to rain on our wedding day I ran over to DSW and found an adorable pair of polka dot rainboots in the clearance section. Since it didn’t start pouring until halfway through our ceremony so I didn’t end up wearing them down the aisle but they were close by!

Did you have something old, new, borrowed and blue for your big day??
